So has anyone played this game on Steam in the last year? It caught my eye when I logged back into Steam after quite some time.
Is there anything similar to our RTS method?

You can also avoid some difficulties by pointing the installation to a non-user protected directory like c:\games\Links2K vs. 'program files'.

Can I ask is it worth paying a bit extra and downloading the game with all the official courses? Looks like there are a lot of user courses that are better looking! You shouldn't need the Voodoo wrapper any more with a stand-alone NVIDIA card in your new system.

Good news, amazingly it looks like this was resolved with the latest Radeon driver 24.1.1 which came out a few days ago. I've tested about 15 of the courses that used to crash before, and they play all the way through. I have closed the issue on the AMD forum.

Unfortunately the problem still exists with the latest Radeon driver 23.12.1.
I can't say for certain if the problem exists outside the NAVI generation cards of which I have one (5600XT) which is a bit older now (circa 2020).
