Great find, Stephen! I think I still have that buried somewhere on my hard drive, too. I don't play Links very often anymore, but Powerstroke is all I have used for a long time. I liked it better than RTS after Click got stale for me.

Re: Photo - Realistic Courses
If my memory serves me correctly, I believe he became a professional designer for someone. Real courses. I'm sure someone will know more and bump this. If you mean John Aherne, he started his own company and was (is still?) doing 3D rendering work for real golf course architects. Some good examples...

Re: Links Virtual Tour 2024!
Andy, I think the filename in the download link needs to be updated from "LVT2024.zip" to "LVT2025.zip" - the as-is link results in a "Not Found" error. But if I manually edit the URL to "LVT2025.zip" then the file downloads properly.

Re: Art Patscheck
Very sorry to hear that. Art was a talented designer - only need to look as far as Walnut Grove and Buck Creek to know that - but his classic tutorial "APCD Inside and Out" was a major contribution to helping other designers succeed. RIP

Re: Arcadia Bluffs
Sage - I think the wet/green grass looks better with the underlying texture. It's more subdued and blends better. The dry grass looks a bit too bright and is almost overwhelming to the eye. It's looking really good!

Re: Terrain Painter
I think this is fairly common. I usually noticed it when I was attempting to add a vert in an area with other existing verts in very close proximity, or if the area had a sharp elevation change, but not always. My usual course of action, instead of deleting the extra verts, was to undo (the vert ins...

Re: Favourite Courses of 2023
It's been a good year! Interesting that the vast majority of the year's new courses were real courses. I guess that's not surprising with the emergence of LIDAR imports, plus most folks seem to prefer real courses (especially ones that host/have hosted tour events). It's hard to argue with courses r...
