Re: Royal New Kent Golf Club

I'm the opposite. I play two handed games left handed but everything else, like writing, throwing a ball, playing table tennis I do right handed, it is only when the two hands are together do I do it left handed.

Re: Royal New Kent Golf Club

"Mean 18" that brings back memories, it wasn't quite in the same category as Links :) Very different times. I really only came back to Links in the last 12 months, after getting Links running on Windows 11 and Linux, the old XP box I had under the desk was mostly too much of a nuisance. So...

Re: Royal New Kent Golf Club

Perhaps a different swing type might also be in order. I found the fade and draw shots that pmgolf described adding to RTS has made that swing type more complete with ways to play many golf shots possible. I have been using RTS ever since Links 2003 was released. I always found the click swing to no...

Re: Royal New Kent Golf Club

Looks better Sage.

In addition to the importance of club selection you can also add shot selection and positional play as elements that test you.

In Links it is certainly not a walk over course, somewhat rare in a real course rendition.

Re: Royal New Kent Golf Club

I do not know if it is related but in playing a round on the final I noticed the edges of many greens has this unusual sort of scalloped edge to it.

Re: Links working on Steam Deck

You should not need to use dgVoodoo on Linux. Wine is doing what dgVoodoo does and a lot more, and doing it better in my view on the platform. FWIW the wine wrapper for DirectX when used on Windows is not working properly with Links, shame, if it worked like on Linux it would be an excellent solutio...

Re: Links working on Steam Deck

Interesting read. I have Links running on Linux Mint at resolutions up to 1920 x 1200. The instructions for getting it to run on Mint should be the same as getting it to run on Ubuntu, given that are both based on Debian and the fact that Mint uses Ubuntu as its base. A copy of my doc is posted in t...
