LINKS CORNER REVIEW

With occasional shots of color to accent this course whose tees, mowed fairways, roughs and greens all complemented each other you will find it a very pleasant and interesting course to play on. The creeks were lined with large stones and the water hazards with rock lining had a well finished look to them. The undergrowth in the heavy stands of trees had pine needles, while the individual ones has a small amount of planting, most attractive. His biggest drawback was at times he used multiples of the same tree (# 9 green) instead of mixing them, it always makes a course look amateurish.

Without any huge elevation changes to cause any problems for the player I found the elevations and the caddie to be satisfactory. The fairways were unnaturally narrow to the point of being ridiculous at times but were always hittable, with care. In general the greens were very small (#8) and made me wonder were would you find an assortment of pin placements. The fairways were guarded by bunkers, water hazards, and streams but they all seemed to be manageable. The greens were usually heavily guarded by bunkers, which didn't help because of their size. After your drive you will find that the fairways all have a slight slope to them causing you to have to allow for it in your next shot. The putting weren't that easy either; I wouldn't call it moderate but close to it. The hole shapes, the narrow fairways, the small guarded greens all added up to a fair challenge, not difficult but interesting.

#6 hole, par 4, 450y, playing blind off the tee place your aiming stick past the left bunker and that will put you in perfect position for an approach shot, 284y. I had 168y to the pin; your standing on a slope, my 6 iron was a little long but the green is elevated and if you adjusted the club for length it would fall short.

# 15 hole, par 4, 479y, this dogleg left looks worse than it is. A well placed drive down the left side of the fairway straight to the third bunker will netted me 282y, and I had a clear 191y to the pin. The green is small and guarded by two bunkers with a small pond in between them. Standing on a slope again my 5 iron took me over the three hazards onto the small green.

# 17 hole, par 5, 563y, a long narrow fairway with a creek bisecting it at 245y on the right side, obviously the place to cross without a problem, 278y. Now with 282y left my trusty 3w rolled 255y to the first cut, sorry, just before another creek. With 29y left, a lw seemed to be the answer because of this 12.5ft elevated green, it can be had for a birdie. I was handed a pw instead of a lw which I wouldn't think was adequate for this shot.

This is an attractive course with unusual shaped holes, it could be called a fantasy course but I wouldn't label it that. Because of the fairways and the greens you will have somewhat of a challenge here especially if you play with a strong wind or fast greens. The holes were not interesting like I would find some of our better course are but it was quite a bit better than most of the courses that we have been seeing. If narrow fairways bother you stay away from it, if you want a course that isn't a backbreaking download this isn't bad by any sense of the meaning. I would not call it a keeper it is a course that you might want to play just for the sake of playing something a little different and good looking.
