LINKS CORNER REVIEW |
Reviewed by James Wood April 2001
First Impressions:
This is a fictional course with a park style setting. The golf course seems to wind around a large lake that comes into view often. The lake never comes into play on the golf course though and there is no water on any of the holes. There are some stock bunker shapes with some original shapes thrown in. The bunkers are done fairly well although they're very shallow. Planting is fairly light with some very sparse under planting under the forested areas. There are a lot of wild flowers near the tee boxes. A custom sound greets you whenever you come close to the lake. Also present are animals, restrooms, benches, water fountains, ball washes, and golf carts. The fairways are wide and have a first cut of rough.
Strategy:
You can use a fairly straightforward strategy here. Only one of the par 5's is reachable. The greens are fairly flat with some mild contours and you should score very well here.
Favorite Hole:
None really stick out above the rest here.
Overall:
The course looks pretty good with few bad edges and shadows. There are a lot of good golf courses being released right now so I can't really recommend this one.
