1st, par 3, 202, On this island hole I found if you use a 4 iron three clicks up in trajectory (setup), hit a perfect snap. You get a fantastic landing.
3rd, par 4, 458y, If you move the ball to the right on the tee in order to miss the tree, you improve your chances of a better first landing. This is a minor dogleg to the right with a bunker at 280 to the right and a water hazard at 300 to the right. You have a balancing act here, I landed at 284, which left 184y to the pin. This is a well thought out hole.oh yeah, the green is well guarded.
4th, par 4, at about 295y, there is a tree in the fairway. I would call that a definite hazard but it can be avoided with a careful tee shot.
5th, par 4, 446y, fairway is well guarded by bunkers, as is the green.
7th, par 4, watch out for severe slope on front of green or get out your wading boots.
13th. Par 4, 465y, very similar to the 3rd hole in difficulty but this time move the ball to the left on the tee.
18th, par 5, 522y, A beautiful finishing hole to a truly enjoyable course.
Beautiful rock treatments around water hazards and he brings everything in his arsenal to impede your march to the pin. The fairways have well placed, dormant, deep and tall grasses, bunkers, creeks, trees, any thing he can generate for this thinking game. When you finally get to the greens they are well guarded as well. He doesn't just scatter them around ,but places them where they will do the most, good/harm,take you choice.
Let's not get into a description of his par 5's except to say that the fairways are dangerous and most enjoyable.
The greens are both undulating and sloping if that is possible. This can make putting, the weakest part of my game, quite difficult, but I have played this course before and find the putting to be a little above moderate.
The look of his tees, fairways, greens and roughs are fairly flat in appearance but blend well. The trees are well assorted to give a heavily wooded look to this course. The top views are very nice.
The elevation and the caddie in my estimation are completely accurate.
Think and plan your way through this heavily guarded course and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.
This is the type of course that is usually about 30 miles from you and costs a little more to play, but is worth the extra drive and money.
