COURSE NOTES
This is an update of the Access Software Hyatt Dorado Beach East course released in 1991 for Links the Challenge of Golf. Dorado Beach East is now under Ritz-Carlton management. The overall layout of the holes is mostly unchanged from 1991 - except that the front nine and back nine have been swapped. In 1991, Access Software described Dorado Beach East as a "seaside links" winding "through a lush jungle dotted with pristine lakes" and streams in a "wonderful tropical adventure".

This update of the course tries to adhere to that spirit throughout the course. The fairways are very generous and the greens forgiving. All pins have been planted using the pin grid TGA map. The signature hole is the double-dog leg par 5 4th hole. I would suggest spending a moment practicing this hole in advance before starting a round in order to familiarize yourself and plan accordingly. When playing in Gusty/Windy conditions you will find it necessary from time to time to grab a different clu
b than the one your caddy suggests. The two par 3's on the front nine (hole 2 & hole 5) are of a distance not typically seen but nontheless playable. Includes Hole Previews, Splash Screen, Logo, Flags, and Handicap.

This is a beta release. I would be very appreciative of feedback from your experience being left in the Course Corner of Links Corner Forum [use/create Topic: Dorado Beach East].

A thank you to a number of folks whom I sought out comments and questions from on the forums. Thank you to those designers who leave their courses unlocked for other designers to learn new techniques. I would like to mention two names: thank you to Danny D for that forum post on 12/12/19 regarding steps to horizontal seam blending. I had already begun working Dorado Beach East when I read that post. You ave no idea how much easier/relief it was to accomplish seam blending using this step by step method you posted. And I thank Lez Marwick for the incredible effort of those 67 videos - without which I would have no idea where/how to begin.
