The Royal Montreal Golf Club's Blue Course is one of Canada's finest tests of golf. It demands a combination of power and control off the tees, and sharp play into the tiered greens Rees Jones created when he renovated the course in 2004.
Of the three courses at Royal Montreal, the Blue Course is the lightly bolder course, and members had anticipated that it would be the venue for any professional tournaments.
The Dick Wilson design was completed in the Fall of 1958.The first rounds were played by members in the Summer of 1958.
After many years, it was decided that the Blue Course required modifications, in order to address the changes in equipment technology which affected both members and the top players who would challenge the Course in future championships such as The Presidents Cup. In May 2004, Royal Montreal chose Rees Jones and his associates, including lead designer Bryce Swanson, to update the Blue Course.
