COURSE NOTES
This is purely a local 9-hole course near Southampton, England (an adjunct to the main Dibden Course) built to PGA Standards that plays very well indeed and is invaluable for practising short game and putting. Par is 29 but sub-20 is do-able if you can eagle either of the par-4s!
=========================================================
There was reported a missing Hole problem John worked on.

Right, here's what I've done....
Removed all pins and replanted the lot (5 per hole, 45 in all) applied ratings to each.
Ran 3 test rounds on each of difficult, normal and easy pin placements. Absolutely no problems at all this end (but then I couldn't find any to start with).

CLIPNOTES by Ben Bateson (ousgg)

Description
Real, short course
Location
Hampshire
Conditions
You could play this on F*/F*. However, recommended conditions, given the nature of the course, are somewhat slower: F*/S* would strike a nice balance.
Concept  2/10
The short-course partner to John\'s full-length Dibden, this course\'s 7 Par 3s and 2 Par 4s are almost completely unexceptional, although I was a little tickled by the hidden bunker on the 8th when the flag is set dead behind it. Completists will be more than happy to add this one: others will probably find it somewhat superfluous.
Appearance  5/10
The featureless nature of the course means John\'s rough textures tile badly, and more attention could have been paid to the planting, given the limited plot available. There is the occasional bright moment visually, and everything is neat enough, but you couldn\'t blame a veteran of Links for wanting more.
Playability  4/10
The best bit, of course, is angling for Eagles on the two reachable Par 4s. Elsewhere, there isn\'t much demand or variety in the Par 3s, with planting and bunkering tucked well out of the way: for really errant shots only.
Challenge  1/10
With billiard-table-flat greens most of the way around, there isn\'t much to worry about here. Expect to score several under par at the very minimum.
Technical  4/10
I have absolutely nothing against reproducing little fun warm-up courses such as this, but I do worry that sometimes it is done without much panache. Dibden is a case in point: it would have been a good opportunity to roll out an experimental texture and carefully non-cloned planting. Perhaps even a mini-game or new MoP? There is room to do something else here.
Overall An unremarkable, easy practice before whatever other course you were going to play. 16/50
