LINKS CORNER REVIEW |
Reviewed by James Wood April 2001
First Impressions:
This is a fictional course with a park style setting. The planting isn't bad and may be the only thing that wasn't done poorly. No under planting has been done. Popping in shapes with no other work done to them has created the bunkers, water, and greens here. There is some stock green shapes used and the sizes are anything but stock. A few of them are absolutely huge. The course has quite a few bad edges. The most noticeable thing is the unrealistic elevations used especially the greens and tee boxes.
Strategy:
Only one of the Par 5's is reachable in two. There are quite a few shots where a fade or draw is necessary to put yourself in good shape off of the tee box. Avoid missing the greens or you will not have a shot because of the severe slopes. Some of the pins are very close to the edge of the green. A few of the par 4's require a 3W for the second shot. Many of the bunkers are located exactly 270 yards out in the middle of the fairway. Putting isn't too bad with most of the greens being relatively flat.
Favorite Hole:
The 8th hole has a nice windmill sitting close to the tee box.
Overall:
There were too many things left undone here to recommend downloading this one. |
