LINKS CORNER REVIEW |
Reviewed by James Woods
First Impressions:
This is a fictional course with a mixed theme. The lakeside panorama was used but the course has a desert look to it. The planting that was used further confuses this. The expected palm trees and cactus is here but so are other trees normally not found in the desert. Large rock formations, boulders, scrub plants, grasses, and bushes make up the rest of the planting. Each hole has a fairway followed by a ring of rough and then another ring of dry grass. Orange sand bunkers are used here and there is a large lake that makes its appearance on the back nine starting at number 14. Quite a few houses also appear on the course
Strategy:
Out of the four par 5's on the course three are reachable.
Hole #2 Par 5 503 yards
A good drive here leaves you with a 5 iron into a fairly flat green. Hole #11 Par 5 540 yards
A second shot of only 216 yards should provide another eagle opportunity.
Hole #14 Par 5 563 yards
The longest reachable par 5 with a 250 yard second shot. If the pin is in the back you'll have a lot of contour on the putt.
Favorite Hole:
The par 4 15th hole is 399 yards from the back tees and has a nice view off of the tee box.
Overall:
It would have been nice if one theme had been picked out and used throughout the course. As it is the course looks confused. This course is easy to play though with any type of swing. I can't recommend the course for downloading.
