I have managed to create a saved shot where the ball goes flying into Rae's Creek out of the rough and you hear a splash and then the ball just makes it out over the other side. Other times it will not it is just wet. This element of IRL play is somewhat unique to Links. A saved shot of this is included in the zip file.
More accurate ball physics around the greens particularly on 15, 13, and 12 also serve to recreate the experience regardless of whether you use the mod to play or not.
A completely new rough texture that is basically a first cut texture with properties set mid way between fairway and rough is also present throughout the course.
The sand texture that upset everyone in the 2005 version has been fixed. That means that the ball still rolls down the face of the bunker to the bottom but if for some reason your ball does stop on the slope you will still be presented with a sand shot rather than a chip as before.

Augusta National 2006 is an updated version of the famous Masters course. Augusta National 2001 and Augusta National 2005 were earlier versions done by Mr Jones and company. This years update was done to match the actual changes done to the real Augusta. A number of holes were lengthened; including 1, 4, 7, 11 and 15. The tee's at 11 and 15 were slightly repositioned and some trees were added to the right side of the 11th fairway. The fairway at 11 was also shifted a bit to the left.
In addition to these changes AJ also made some texture property changes as per follows:
"In this version I have fixed the bunkers so even though the ball still rolls down into the bunker if it stays on the side you will still get a sand shot. I have also toughened up 15 a little bit so it is as hard as it plays in real life especially if chipping from over the back of the green
Finally, check out the saved shot in the zip called bounce out of water. It is a shot that is hit from the rough and has enough momentum to splash in the water but still get out the other side. Very cool and a result of texture property editing."
Since Augusta National is probably the most famous and scruntinized golf course in the world I won't bother with any kind of descrition. This update was meant just to keep up with the real course. A full review is really not necessary. Suffice it to say this is one of (if not the best) Links courses ever created. I can't imagine there is a single linkster who hasn't downloaded it yet.
