COURSE NOTES
Well this is my 1st attempt at a course, I hope you like it. It is a fictional course but I have tried to keep it as real as possible being tough but I think challenging and fun to play.

It is set in a pine forest named after a forest in my home area where I live NW of England. I visited there as a child and have fond memories of that forest so I decided to use that as a base for my 1st course and hopefully many more. Hope you enjoy this course and please give me feedback on what you think my e-mail is brianrjameson@aol.com
ty for reading this and have fun on my course

LINKS CORNER REVIEW

Reviewed by Andrew Cray (andrewcray2)

About the designer Brian Jameson:
Dellemere Forest Golf Resort his first release.

Quality of APCD work:
The Quality of the APCD work was very sketchy. From the very first hole you see that the fairway looks to be cut off abruptly by the lake. There isn't a smooth transition there that makes it look natural. Another problem you find on this course is on the third hole. While hitting your approach to this par 3 which is surrounded by a brook, if you miss the green and land on a texture called 'jamotallgrass', you would have to take a penalty drop. I hit a shot that ran through the green and barely off the fringe and I had to take a drop. I recommend going back and changing that texture property. I feel the planting wasn't quite up to normal standards, due to some visible trees being blurry. The bunkering had sharp edges and didn't look attractive at all.

Playability
You can score on this course if you play exceptionally well. I unfortunately did not. One of my rounds I shot an 87, with three birdies and a 10 on the ninth hole. If you are trying to improve your stats, you're in for a test.

Custom Work/Extras:
Readme, Splash Screen, Custom Tees and Hole Markings. Rakes are found in nearly all the bunkers. Though being a resort, I didn't see a clubhouse or any other landmarks indicating that this was a resort course.

My Overall Opinion of Dellemere Forest Golf Resort:

I applaud Mr. Jameson for releasing this course for the public. I don't believe this was a bad start for a first time designer. We all go through the learning curve of the APCD, some better than others. I recommend that the designer look at some of the other courses released here at Links corner for a little guidance. I thought the course was a little dry in character, mainly because you were bombarded by blind tee shot after blind tee shot. Some of the par 3's would have looked great if they were downhill or elevated slightly. I personally thought the mounds were there to cover up mistakes in the hole, however that is just my opinion. I felt the course needed a little more elevation and sloping so it looked more natural than it does now. Cutting back on some of the bunkering or either widening the fairways would also be a good adjustment. The textures used for this course kind of clashed, especially with the tall grass and pine straw textures. This course is classified as a fictional one, but I feel that this is on the border of being an imaginary course. For example, Hole 12, where you have a little strip of land to hit your tee shot to, knock a second shot onto a strip of fairway and have a short pitch to the green for your third. From the top view it looks like there isn't a fairway to hit it to. Some of the pins are tucked in corners where if you try to be aggressive, you might find your ball 30 feet pin high or off the green. Sometimes into a bunker or into a marked hazard that really should be deep grass.

Recommendation:I personally can't recommend this course. There were too many subtle flaws that I feel make this course almost unplayable at times. I don't know if beta testing was done on this course; but I feel with a little more time and polishing up on a few tutorials, this course could receive a much better rating.

Disclaimer:
Thank you to the designer for letting me review your work. I pride myself on not being too judgmental or unfair. There is not one person who can master the APCD completely. This review is a thorough examination of APCD course design. This review is strictly my own opinion that is due to personal experience as a designer and player.
