The Course: This is Jim's first course and unfortunately is not really up to standard. There are many APCD errors and also some design errors that make the course quite difficult to play in places. The basic design, if unoriginal, is quite sound. However some tree placements are quite poor and do force some almost impossible shots. The course is built in woodland and generally the planting is fairly well done. As I have said though, the 1st tee typifies the problem, as there is a tree planted on the tee area itself right behind the golfer. That doesn't interfere with the shot, it is just a little off putting. Bunkers are very basic and in places badly constructed. Water in the form of lakes is not too badly done with an extruded but unmapped mud edge. Streams are just laid on the grass. The large lake has a sand bank, but that has been badly constructed with a strip of water appearing between the rough and sand. The pic above demonstrates what I mean. The course could, I think, be made good with a lot of work, because the basic design is there. Or, study the tuts very carefully and get good help with your beta testing when you do your next one. I am afraid that these days the standard is so high any course put up has to be of a certain standard, to be considered. Unfortunately this one does fall well short of that.
