Hi,
Would someone kindly explain the differences between the above processors
Aldis a couple of weeks ago had PC on sale with Quad processor which I was unable to buy due to no stock left. Next week Aldis are offering a PC with i3-530 processor.
Am I right to assume the i3 is a more powerful processor?
Thanks for your help
Michael

The I series processors have more direct access to L2 cache and memory. They are more power effecient too.
But they are also more expensive.
I'd go with a Q series quad for now or even an E8xxx quad. The motherboards are cheaper, and the effeciency gains do not justify the added expense right now.
With the money you save, get more RAM, or a better graphics card, or a better sound card, or a better monitor.

Hi
Thanks for your reply.
My son has had a look and said he will build me a PC from scratch. Some funds have come my way so we are looking at quad 4 rather than i3.
And upgrade to radeon card rather than nvidea
Thanks again
Cheers
Michael
